Two years as a Teach For Thailand (TFT) “Fellow” had proven to give “Kreen” and “Zeem” enough understanding and inspiration to continue their work in education. Both have decided to open a private school in their respective provinces, Songkhla and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
ระยะเวลา 2 ปี ในโครงการผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลง เป็นเวลามากพอที่ใครบางคนจะได้ทำความเข้าใจปัญหาการศึกษา และเป็นระยะเวลาที่ทำให้ศิษย์เก่าที่จบจากโครงการฯ มีแรงบันดาลใจทำงานในวงการการศึกษาต่อไป เช่นเรื่องราวของกรีน และซีม ที่ตัดสินใจเปิดโรงเรียนเอกชนในจังหวัดบ้านเกิดของตนเอง
“ตอนนั้นผมตั้งเป้าว่าจะเปิดโรงเรียนเป็น Home School ให้ได้ภายใน 5 ปี ตอนนี้ 4 ปีปลายก็สามารถตั้งได้แล้ว และยังมีผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่ๆ กลุ่มวิชาต่างๆ ที่ดูเป็นที่ต้องการมาเสริมอีก”
“Mentor teachers” don’t only supervise Teach For Thailand (TFT) Fellows, but also learn from them. An example is the story of Too, Tidtee, and Moo.
Mrs. Kanya Pothinam (Too) is a teacher at Ban Chedi Mae Krua School, Chiang-Mai, and a mentor teacher of Preaw, a TFT Fellow (cohort 9). “Preaw understands the diversity in her student group well; she supports those who learn quickly, and scaffolds for those who are slower with patience.”

“ครูแพรวมีวิธีการสอนที่เข้าใจเด็ก เด็กคนไหนเรียนรู้ได้เยอะก็สนับสนุน เด็กกลุ่มไหนเรียนรู้ช้า ก็จะค่อยๆ สอนจากขั้น 1 ไป 2 ทำให้เด็กตามคนอื่นทัน และไม่หงุดหงิดเวลาเด็กตามไม่ทัน เห็นน้องพยายามเข้าใจความต่างของนักเรียน เราก็คิดว่าบางทีเราก็ไม่เข้าใจเวลาเด็กทำไม่ได้ แต่จริงๆเด็กแค่มีความสามารถในการเรียนรู้ไม่เท่ากัน”
At Wang Nuea Wittaya School, Lam Pang, the Guidance classroom has been turned into a counseling center where students open up about their problems. Representatives have won a national youth counseling contest, and the police, the hospital, and the community all take part in this mental health project. This was made possible by ‘Friend,’ Chaiyawin Suttiboon, Alumnus cohort 8.
