"ไม่อยากให้มองว่าการสนับสนุนการศึกษาเป็นเพียงการมอบสิ่งของ แต่ให้ลองมองว่าท่านกำลังมอบโอกาสที่สำคัญมากๆ ให้กับเด็กคนหนึ่ง เพราะบางครั้งโอกาสเพียงครั้งเดียว อาจเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของอนาคตทั้งชีวิตของเด็กคนหนึ่งก็เป็นได้"

ณุนี - พิษณุ นนทวงษ์ ครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลง รุ่น 12 กล่าวไว้หลังจากจัดกิจกรรมในงานสัปดาห์วิทยาศาสตร์ที่มีเด็กเข้าร่วมมากกว่าที่คาดไว้ 3 เท่า

โรงเรียนต้นแก้วผดุงพิทยาลัย อ.หางดง จ.เชียงใหม่ เป็นโรงเรียนที่รับเด็กหลากหลายกลุ่ม ส่วนใหญ่อยู่กับตายายและมีข้อจำกัดทางการเงินที่ทำให้พ่อแม่ต้องเข้าไปทำงานในเมือง ณุนีเยี่ยมบ้านนักเรียนครบทุกคน เพื่อให้เห็นว่าชีวิตของเด็กแต่ละคนนอกรั้วโรงเรียนเป็นอย่างไร สิ่งที่เธอพบทำให้เธอตระหนักว่า ครูคนเดียวไม่มีทรัพยากรเพียงพอที่จะเปิดโลกให้เด็กทุกคนได้

นั่นคือเหตุผลที่ความร่วมมือระหว่างทีช ฟอร์ ไทยแลนด์ และบริษัท ปตท. น้ำมันและการค้าปลีก จำกัด (มหาชน) (OR) มีความหมายในทุกมิติ ทั้งการสนับสนุนทรัพยากร และการลงมาร่วมสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงในพื้นที่จริง

4 ฐาน หนึ่ง Café

OR เป็นหนึ่งในผู้สนับสนุนของเรา โดยมีแนวคิดหลักที่ตรงกันว่า "ถ้าครูดี นักเรียนดี ชุมชนก็จะดีอย่างยั่งยืน" และความร่วมมือนี้นำไปสู่กิจกรรม "OR เติมโอกาส เปิดโลกการเรียนรู้" ในสัปดาห์วิทยาศาสตร์ที่โรงเรียนต้นแก้วฯ ณุนีและเพื่อนครูผู้นำฯ ออกแบบ 4 ฐานกิจกรรมที่บูรณาการวิทยาศาสตร์และภาษาอังกฤษเข้าด้วยกัน โดยมีวัสดุอุปกรณ์จาก Café Amazon เป็นสื่อการเรียนรู้ ฐาน Café Vocab Challenge และ Little Barista ให้เด็กเรียนคำศัพท์และฝึกสนทนาผ่านการสวมบทบาทเป็นบาริสต้าและลูกค้า ฐาน Waste Detective ให้เด็กฝึกแยกขยะและเรียนรู้วัสดุรีไซเคิล และฐาน Creative Recycle Studio ให้เด็กนำแก้วและถุงกระดาษจาก Café Amazon มาสร้างเป็นงานศิลปะตามจินตนาการ

เป้าหมายตั้งไว้ที่นักเรียน ป.2 ประมาณ 100 กว่าคน แต่สุดท้ายมีเด็กทุกระดับชั้นเข้าร่วมเกินกว่า 300 คน

วัดผลจากสิ่งที่เด็กทำได้จริง

ณุนีไม่ได้วัดผลด้วยการแค่ถามเด็กว่า "เข้าใจไหม" แต่วัดจากสิ่งที่เด็กลงมือทำจริงในฐานกิจกรรม เด็กที่เรียนเรื่องการแยกขยะไปแล้วในห้องเรียนสามารถอธิบายเหตุผลได้ว่าทำไมถึงต้องทิ้งถังสีนั้น เด็กที่ทำงานศิลปะนำเสนอผลงานของตัวเองด้วยความภูมิใจ "เด็กบางคนไม่กล้าตอบคำถามในห้องเรียน แต่พอเป็นกิจกรรม เขาเห็นเพื่อนทำ เขาก็อยากทำบ้าง เด็กทุกคนที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนี้ได้มีส่วนร่วมหมด"

ดร.อรพิน สุภาวงศ์ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนสะท้อนถึงสิ่งที่เห็นในวันนั้นว่า "กิจกรรมนี้ทำให้เด็กๆ สนุกสนาน ได้ Active Learning ทดลอง เรียนรู้ ฝึกปฏิบัตินอกชั้นเรียน ได้รู้คำศัพท์ใหม่ๆ และยังบูรณาการหลายสาขาวิชาเข้าด้วยกัน กิจกรรมแบบนี้เกิดขึ้นได้ก็เพราะเรามีครูผู้นำฯ จากทีช ฟอร์ ไทยแลนด์ ซึ่งถือเป็นหนึ่งในบุคลากรของเราที่จะช่วยขับเคลื่อนการจัดการเรียนการสอนของโรงเรียนด้วยกันต่อไป"

มุมมองใหม่

กิจกรรมนี้ยังเปิดประสบการณ์ให้ทางทีม OR ได้มาลงพื้นที่ทำสิ่งใหม่ๆ ร่วมกัน คุณพิชาภรณ์ วงศ์ศรี ผู้จัดการฝ่ายสื่อสารองค์กรกล่าวว่า "OR ให้ความสำคัญกับการเติมโอกาสด้านการศึกษาที่จะช่วยพัฒนาชุมชนและประเทศได้อย่างยั่งยืน ตามแนวทาง 'โออาร์เติมโอกาส ดีดีดี' การทำกิจกรรมกับเด็กๆ ทำให้เราได้เห็นมุมมองที่หลากหลาย และได้เปิดประสบการณ์ไปพร้อมกับพวกเขา"

สิ่งที่ได้เห็นจากการลงพื้นที่วันนั้น เปลี่ยนมุมมองต่อรูปแบบการเรียนการสอนไปเลย "พอได้มาเห็นรูปแบบการเรียนการสอนก็รู้สึกว่ามันไม่ได้จำกัดแค่ในห้องเรียน เด็กๆ เขาเปิดกว้าง มีความยืดหยุ่นในการเรียนรู้ พออธิบายว่าฐานนี้ทำอย่างนี้นะ กิจกรรมนี้ทำอย่างนี้นะ พวกเขาก็สนใจและเรียนรู้ได้เร็ว ที่สำคัญคือพวกเขาดูสนุกกับสิ่งที่ทำ เราได้เห็นว่าการจัดกิจกรรมแบบนี้มีประโยชน์และค่อนข้างสำคัญเลย ต้องขอบคุณในความตั้งใจและความทุ่มเทของทีมงานและคุณครู ที่ออกแบบรูปแบบการเรียนการสอนให้สอดคล้องกับพัฒนาการของเด็กๆ ได้เห็นการมีส่วนร่วมของเด็กๆ ที่ได้เรียนรู้ ได้แสดงความคิดสร้างสรรค์ด้วย ดีใจกับเด็กๆ ที่ได้มาร่วมกิจกรรมกัน"

‍ความหมายที่แท้จริงของโอกาส

OR และทีช ฟอร์ ไทยแลนด์มีแผนขยายรูปแบบกิจกรรมนี้ไปสู่โรงเรียนในพื้นที่อื่นๆ ต่อไป โดย OR จะนำแผนการสอนและแนวทางการจัดกิจกรรมนี้ไปเผยแพร่ให้โรงเรียนในเครือข่ายที่พวกเขาสนับสนุนได้เห็นและนำไปต่อยอด

ณุนีบอกว่าสิ่งที่เธอได้เรียนรู้จากกิจกรรมนี้คือมุมมองใหม่ต่อคำว่า "โอกาส"

"ในฐานะของครู เราอาจจะคิดว่ากำลังมอบโอกาสให้กับเด็ก แต่จริงๆ แล้ว การที่มีพาร์ทเนอร์เข้ามาช่วยสนับสนุน ทำให้เราได้เห็นว่าโอกาสมันสามารถขยายออกไปได้มากกว่าที่ครูคนหนึ่งกำลังทำอยู่เพียงลำพัง เมื่อทรัพยากรเหล่านั้นถูกนำมาออกแบบร่วมกับความเข้าใจในบริบทของเด็กแต่ละคน ก็สามารถเปลี่ยนจากอุปกรณ์ให้กลายเป็นประสบการณ์การเรียนรู้ที่มีความหมายสำหรับเด็กคนหนึ่งได้"

เด็กกว่า 300 คนที่เข้าร่วมในวันนั้นทำให้ทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นสิ่งเดียวกัน เมื่อองค์กรที่มีทรัพยากรได้ลงพื้นที่จริงร่วมกับครูที่รู้จักเด็กแต่ละคน โอกาสที่เด็กได้รับก็ขยายออกไปได้ไกลกว่าที่ใครทำได้คนเดียว

"โอกาสเพียงครั้งเดียว อาจเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของอนาคตทั้งชีวิต" ณุนีกล่าว

How Fellows, Schools and OR Proved That Learning Can Happen Anywhere

"I don't want people to see supporting education as simply giving things away. I want them to see that they are giving a child something much more important: an opportunity. Because sometimes, just one opportunity can become the beginning of a child's entire future."

That's Nunee - Pisanu Nontavong, a Teach for Thailand Fellow from Cohort 12, reflecting on a Science Week activity that drew three times more students than she'd planned for.

Tonkaew Phadung Pittaya School in Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai, serves children from a wide range of backgrounds. Many live with grandparents while their parents work in the city and financial hardship is common. Nunee visited every one of her students' homes to understand their lives beyond the school gates and what she found convinced her that one teacher alone doesn't have the resources to open up the world for every child.

That's where the partnership between Teach for Thailand and PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) comes in, not just as a source of resources, but as a partner working alongside educators where it matters most.

Four Stations, One Café

OR supports Teach for Thailand around a shared belief: "Good teachers create good students and good students help build sustainable communities." That belief took shape as "OR เติมโอกาส เปิดโลกการเรียนรู้" (OR Expanding Opportunities, Opening Up New Worlds of Learning), a Science Week activity at Tonkaew Phadung Pittaya School.

Nunee and other Teach for Thailand Fellows designed 4 learning stations that wove together science and English, using materials from Café Amazon as teaching tools. At the Café Vocab Challenge and Little Barista stations, students practiced English by role-playing as baristas and customers. At Waste Detective, they learned to sort waste and identify recyclables. At the Creative Recycle Studio, they turned Café Amazon cups and paper bags into art.

The Fellows had planned for around 100 Grade 2 students. More than 300 students, across multiple grade levels, showed up.

Measuring What Sticks

Nunee didn't gauge success by asking students if they understood. She watched what they could do. Students who'd learned about waste sorting in class could now explain why different waste belonged in different bins. They proudly presented the art they'd made.

"Some children are afraid to answer questions in the classroom," she said. "But when they see their friends participating, they want to join in too. Every child who took part in this activity was able to participate."

Dr. Orapin Supawong, the school principal, saw the same thing from a different vantage point: "This activity allowed students to have fun while experiencing active learning. They experimented, explored and practiced outside the traditional classroom and integrated knowledge across subjects. Activities like this are possible because we have Teach for Thailand Fellows, who are part of our school community and will continue helping us drive teaching and learning forward."

A New Vantage Point

For the OR team, the day was also a chance to step into the community they support and see it firsthand. Pichaporn Wongsri, Corporate Communication Manager at OR, said: "OR is committed to creating educational opportunities that contribute to the sustainable development of communities and the country, in line with our 'OR for Opportunity' approach and its Triple G's — Good Community, Good Environment and Good Growth. Working with the children gave us the chance to see things from their perspective and share new experiences with them."

Watching the stations in action changed how the OR team thought about teaching itself. "Learning can happen anywhere," one team member reflected. "Children are open-minded and flexible in how they learn, they picked it up quickly and they genuinely enjoyed it. We could see how valuable activities like this are and it's clear how much thought and care the teachers put into designing experiences that match how children actually develop."

What Opportunity Really Means

OR and Teach for Thailand now plan to bring this model to schools in other areas and OR will share the lesson plans and activity guides across its wider network of supported schools.

For Nunee, the day reshaped how she thinks about the word "opportunity" itself.

"As teachers, we may think we're the ones giving opportunities to children. But when partners come in to support us, we realize opportunities can grow far beyond what one teacher can do. When resources are designed around an understanding of each child's context, they become more than equipment but rather meaningful learning experiences."

More than 300 students showed both organizations the same thing: when organizations with resources step into communities and work alongside teachers who understand their students, the opportunities available to children reach further than either side could create alone.

"One opportunity," Nunee said, "can become the beginning of a child's entire future."
