ที่ห้องเรียนของ ‘ครูลูกตาล’ กันต์ฤทัย จันทา ครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นที่ 10 และ ‘ครูแพร์’ แพรนภา เพลิงธาตุ ครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นที่ 11 ก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งภาพสะท้อนว่า พื้นที่เล็ก ๆ นี้สามารถเป็นกระบะทรายให้เด็กทดลอง ถึงจะล้มได้ก็สามารถลุกขึ้นมาอีกครั้ง
เพราะเชื่อว่าอุปสรรคคือโอกาส ครูลูกตาลและครูแพร์จึงไม่ได้เป็นเพียงผู้สอน แต่ยังปรับวิธีการสอนให้เด็กเป็นศูนย์กลาง และเป็นคนที่ดึงความมั่นใจที่ซ่อนอยู่ในตัวเด็ก ๆ ออกมาให้เปล่งประกาย เพียงกล้าลงมือทำ เพราะเชื่อว่าลูกศิษย์ของพวกเขาทำได้
‘ครูลูกตาล’ พาเด็กออกจากห้องเรียนแบบเดิม
ห้องเรียนวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ของ ‘ลูกตาล’ ครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นที่ 10 ที่โรงเรียนปิยบุตร จังหวัดลพบุรี นักเรียนบางคนขาดเรียนเพราะเป็นเสาหลักครอบครัว บางคนมีปัญหาด้านการเงิน และบางคนก็มีปัญหาพฤติกรรม
ถึงแรก ๆ เด็กจะต้องเลือกชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ก่อนการเรียน แต่ครูลูกตาลเลือกที่จะเข้าไปนั่งกลางใจของพวกเขา ไม่เพิกเฉยต่อปัญหา พยายามรู้จักเด็กทุกคนให้ครบทุกแง่มุม ปรับการเรียนและวิธีประเมินผลให้เหมาะกับนักเรียนแต่ละคนให้มากที่สุด
“พอเห็นว่านักเรียนชอบทำกิจกรรม ก็เลยปรับรูปแบบจากสอนทฤษฎีก่อน มาเป็นทำการทดลองให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้และปฏิบัติจริง”
มากกว่านั้น เขายังดึง ‘ความกล้า’ ของผู้เรียนออกมาผ่านการทำชุมนุมทำคอนเทนต์ พานักเรียนมาลองเป็นนักแสดง ตัดต่อคลิปวิดีโอ จนสามารถคว้ารางวัลระดับจังหวัด 2 ปีซ้อน กลายเป็นทุนการศึกษาให้กับนักเรียนได้
“นักเรียนมีทักษะ มีความสามารถในตัวอยู่แล้ว อยากให้เขามั่นใจ กล้าแสดงออกมากขึ้น เพราะมันเป็นโอกาสให้เขาพัฒนาตนเองต่อไป เพราะว่ามันจะเป็นผลดีต่อเขาในอนาคต”
อีกทั้งเธอยังภูมิใจว่า กิจกรรมที่เธอริเริ่มยังสามารถทำให้เด็กภูมิใจในตัวเอง และสามารถมีทุนการศึกษาจากความเชื่อมั่นในตัวเองว่า เขามีความสามารถและเก่งไม่แพ้ใคร เพียงแค่เชื่อในตัวเองและกล้าที่จะลอง
“สิ่งที่ภูมิใจมาก คือ เราสามารถดึงนักเรียนที่เคยมีปัญหาพฤติกรรมมาฝึกฝน ได้รับทักษะชีวิต มันเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนที่ทำให้คนอื่นเห็นว่า พี่คนนี้ก็สามารถใช้ทักษะของตัวเองมาช่วยหาทุนการศึกษาให้ตัวเองได้ด้วย”
ทั้งหมดมันจะเกิดขึ้นไม่ได้เลย ถ้าเราไม่เชื่อว่าเด็กทำได้ และคำว่า ‘ทำได้’ ที่จะทำให้เด็กภูมิใจ มั่นใจ และผลักดันตัวเขาในอนาคต
‘ครูแพร์’ เพราะเชื่อว่าเด็กทำได้
แม้โรงเรียนเกาะจันทร์พิทยาคาร จังหวัดชลบุรี จะมีกิจกรรมให้นักเรียนเข้าร่วมอยู่ตลอด แต่ปัญหาของเด็ก ๆ ก็คือ พวกเขาไม่กล้าแสดงออก
ตลอด 1 ปีของการเป็นครูสอนวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นที่ 11 ‘แพร์’ จึงพานักเรียนของเธอออกจากความกลัวที่ทำให้พวกเขามั่นใจมากขึ้น
เริ่มจากการเปิดพื้นที่ให้นักเรียนลองมาพรีเซนต์งานหน้าห้อง ไปจนถึงการพาเด็ก ๆ ทำคลิปสั้นส่งประกวด และออกแบบการแสดงในสัปดาห์วิทยาศาสตร์ด้วยตัวเอง
“ตอนต้นเทอม พวกเขาไม่อยากออกมาหน้าห้องเลย แต่ตอนนี้ เมื่อได้ลองทำดู อาจจะเสียงเบาบ้าง เขินอายบ้าง แต่พวกเขาก็มีความมั่นใจในการออกมาพูดมากขึ้น ส่วนกิจกรรม Sci-Show พวกเขามีเวลาซ้อมน้อยมาก แต่สามารถทำออกมาได้ดีมาก ทั้งท่านผู้อำนวยการกับคณะครูต่างก็ชื่นชม”
มันอาจจะมีช่วงเวลาที่รู้สึกท้อและคิดว่าทุกอย่างมันหนักเกินรับไหวด้วยภาระงานต่าง ๆ แต่สำหรับแพร์ไม่มีอะไรสำคัญไปมากกว่าการเชื่อใจนักเรียนของเธอ และเปิดพื้นที่ให้นักเรียนลองผิดลองถูก ส่วนเธอจะเป็นนักสังเกตและคอยเติมเต็มช่องว่างของสิ่งที่เด็กไม่รู้เอง
“การเริ่มต้นไม่ได้แย่เลย อยากให้นักเรียนกล้าที่จะลองทำมัน ไม่ว่าจะผิดหรือจะถูกอย่างน้อยเราก็ได้ลองทำ ทำมาก่อน อันไหนที่มันผิด เดี๋ยวครูจะช่วยเติมเต็มเอง”
ถึงชีวิตการเรียนการสอนจะเต็มไปด้วยความท้าทายมากมาย แต่ถ้าเชื่อในศักยภาพของเด็ก เขาก็จะกล้าที่จะลองและเติบโตได้

From Fear to Courage: A Classroom That Believes in Every Child’s Potential
A classroom is more than just a space for lessons. It is a small world where children can learn new subjects, experiment, make mistakes, build confidence, and discover courage within themselves.
At the classrooms of Gunruetai (Looktarn) Janta, a Teach for Thailand Cohort 10 Fellow, and Praenapa (Prae) Plerng-tart, Cohort 11 Fellow, students are given that space to try, fail, and rise again. These teachers believe that obstacles are opportunities. They adjust their teaching to put students at the center and draw out the hidden confidence within each child. Their motto is simple: children can do it if they are given the chance.
Taking Students Beyond the Traditional Classroom
In the science classroom at Piyabut School in Lopburi, some students miss classes because they are family caretakers. Others face financial challenges, while some struggle with behavioral issues. At first, life responsibilities come before learning.
Looktarn chooses to meet students where they are. She takes time to understand each student fully, adjusting lessons and assessment methods to suit individual needs.
“When I noticed students enjoyed activities, I shifted from teaching theory first to letting them do hands-on experiments,” she explained.
She also brings out students’ courage through clubs and content creation. Students have taken on roles as actors, video editors, and creators, winning provincial awards for two consecutive years. These achievements have also become scholarships for the students.
“The students already have skills and abilities. I want them to gain confidence and courage because it opens the door to further growth. It will benefit them in the future,” she said.
Looktarn takes pride in seeing students transform. Some who previously struggled with behavior learned life skills and realized they could leverage their talents to earn scholarships.
“The proudest moment is when a student who had behavioral issues developed skills and found a way to support their education. All of this is possible because we believe children can succeed.”
Helping Students Step Out of Fear
At Koh Chan Pittayakarn School in Chonburi, activities abound, yet many students remain hesitant to express themselves. During her first year teaching science, Pear focused on building confidence in her students.
She started by creating opportunities for students to present work in front of the class. She encouraged them to make short videos, design performances, and lead activities during Science Week.
“At the beginning of the term, they didn’t want to speak in front of the class. Now, even if their voices are soft or they feel shy, they have more confidence to speak. During the Sci-Show, they had little rehearsal time, yet performed wonderfully. Both the principal and other teachers praised their efforts,” she said.
Even when challenges and heavy workloads threatened to overwhelm, Pear remained focused on trusting her students. She allowed them to experiment, make mistakes, and learn, providing guidance only when needed.
“Starting is never bad. I want students to be brave enough to try, whether they succeed or fail. At least they get to try, and I’ll help fill in the gaps when needed.”
Through belief in their potential, students learn to take risks, explore, and grow.
