Beyond the Classroom: ก้าวออกนอกห้องเรียน ค้นพบตัวเองและโลกอาชีพ

เพราะเด็ก ๆ มีคำถามถึงเส้นทางอาชีพของตัวเอง ในฐานะครู ‘ซัลวา’ ฟาตีหม๊ะ เจ๊ะดะ คุณครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นที่ 11 กำลังสอนอยู่ใน ‘โรงเรียนวิเชียรกลิ่นสุคนธ์อุปถัมภ์’ จังหวัดอยุธยา จึงพานักเรียนไปหาคำตอบด้วยตัวเองผ่านโครงการ ‘Beyond the Classroom’

เป้าหมายของโครงการให้เด็ก ๆ รู้จักอาชีพในภาคอุตสาหกรรมและเตรียมตัวให้พร้อมสำหรับโลกการทำงานจริง โดยร่วมมือกับมูลนิธิสวารอฟสกีไปเยี่ยมชมโรงงานที่อยู่ห่างจากโรงเรียนเพียง 20 กิโลเมตรเท่านั้น

ถึงแม้ว่าเส้นทางจะดูอีกยาวไกล ความฝันอาจเปลี่ยนไปตามกาลเวลา แต่ประสบการณ์ครั้งนี้ทำให้ภาพอนาคตของเด็ก ๆ ชัดเจนขึ้น และเตรียมตัวเองให้พร้อมสำหรับการก้าวไปสู่สิ่งที่วาดหวังไว้ด้วยความมั่นใจ

ก้าวออกจากห้องเรียน

โรงเรียนวิเชียรกลิ่นสุคนธ์อุปถัมภ์ตั้งอยู่ใกล้กับเขตนิคมอุตสาหกรรม ดังนั้นนักเรียนส่วนใหญ่จึงเป็นลูกหลานของพนักงานโรงงาน 

ช่วงแรกนักเรียนไม่อยากเข้าร่วม เพราะคิดว่าต้องทำงานเหมือนพ่อแม่ แต่เมื่อเดินทางไปแล้วกลับมา เด็ก ๆ ก็บอกว่า เขาเริ่มค้นพบตัวเองและมองตัวเองในอนาคต 

“นักเรียนบอกว่า สุดท้ายเขาก็ต้องไปทำงานโรงงานอยู่ดี ทำไมต้องไปด้วย จากเดิมที่เขาไม่รู้ว่าเขาอยากทำงานอะไร แต่พอเข้าไปดูหน้างานจริง นักเรียนค้นพบว่า ตัวเองอยากเป็นล่าม และบางคนเริ่มสนใจงานด้านบัญชี”

เนื่องจากโครงการนี้ นักเรียนจะได้พูดคุยกับพี่ที่ทำงานในแต่ละตำแหน่งได้เอง ทำให้เขาต้องใช้ความกล้าที่จะถามเพื่อเก็บเกี่ยวประสบการณ์และความรู้ให้ได้มากที่สุด ส่วนคุณครูเองก็ได้มองเห็นศักยภาพที่ซ่อนอยู่ในตัวนักเรียนที่เปล่งแสงขึ้นเมื่ออยู่นอกห้องเรียน 

“ตอนแรก ๆ เขาจะเงียบ แต่โครงการนี้เหมือนละลายพฤติกรรม ทำให้ครูเห็นว่า เขาพูดได้ กล้าคิด กล้าแสดงออก”  ครูจ๊ะจ๋า ‘วันพรรษา อินทรโพธิ์’ คุณครูที่เดินทางไปเข้าร่วมโครงการบอก

เห็นความกล้าที่ซ่อนอยู่ในตัวนักเรียน

โครงการนี้ไม่เพียงเป็นพื้นที่ให้นักเรียนลองต้นหาตัวเอง แต่ยังเปิดมุมมองและวิธีการสอนให้กับคุณครูอีกด้วย 

ครูจ๊ะจ๋าเล่าว่า การแนะแนวอาชีพไม่จำเป็นต้องอธิบายด้วยคำพูดหรือเปิดคลิป แต่สามารถพาเด็กไปเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์ตรงของคนในอาชีพนั้นได้โดยตรง

“ทำให้คุณครูมองเห็นวิธีสอนมากขึ้น ว่ามันไม่ได้อยู่แค่ในห้องเรียน ในบทเรียน หนังสือหรือตำรา แต่ยังมีอีกหลายอย่างที่อยู่ข้างนอก แล้วทำให้เด็กได้เรียนรู้จากสภาพแวดล้อมการทำงานจริง” 

ครูซัลวาบอกว่า ดีใจที่โครงการนี้สามารถทำให้เด็กคนหนึ่งค้นพบตัวเอง บางคนอาจไม่ได้มีภาพที่ชัดเจน แต่ก็เป็นเรื่องดีที่ทำให้เขาเริ่มตรียมพร้อมตัวเองสำหรับชีวิตหลังจบการศึกษา 

“รู้สึกดีใจที่เราเป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่ทำให้นักเรียนเริ่มตั้งเป้าหมาย ลองคิด และกำหนดทิศทางชีวิตของตัวเอง และทำให้เขาได้รู้ว่า เขาอยากเป็นอะไร” 

พื้นที่แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดและค้นพบตัวตน

ขณะที่ฝั่งเอกชน คุณวาสนา ฤดีไพสิฐ ผู้ช่วยกรรมการบริหาร บริษัทสวารอฟสกี้ เเมนูเเฟ็คเจอริ่ง จำกัดบอกว่า ธุรกิจไม่สามารถเดินได้ด้วยการผลิตเพียงอย่างเดียว การเปิดให้นักเรียนเข้ามาชมโรงงานก็เป็นอีกช่องทางหนึ่งที่ทำให้ภาคเอกชนกลายเป็นพื้นที่แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นของคนต่างวัย

“เราเป็นบริษัททำจิวเวลรี แต่ก็มีธุรกิจอีกมากมาย ถ้าเขาเปิดโอกาสให้เด็ก ๆ เข้าไปเรียนรู้ แลกเปลี่ยนความคิด ก็น่าจะเป็นการเปิดมุมมองและทำให้พวกเขาได้รับประสบการณ์ใหม่ ๆ” 

ในมุมของผู้ริเริ่มโครงการ ครูซัลวาเห็นว่า การสนับสนุนจากภาคเอกชนเป็นการเรียนรู้ที่ตอบโจทย์เด็ก เพราะเป็นประสบการณ์ที่เด็ก ๆ จะได้มาเจอกับคนทำงานตัวจริง และเรียนรู้สิ่งที่ตำราเรียนไม่ได้บอก

นั่นคืออาชีพในชีวิตจริง…

“ถ้านักเรียนมีโอกาสเข้าไปดูจริงๆ เขาก็จะเห็นว่า ภายในแต่ละแผนกทำงานอย่างไร ได้เรียนรู้กระบวนการทำงาน ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้อาจเป็นประโยชน์ให้นักเรียนสามารถต่อยอดได้”

แม้บทบาทการเป็นครูผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงของเธอจะสิ้นสุดลง แต่ครูซัลวาหวังว่า โครงการ Beyond the Classroom จะยังคงดำเนินต่อไป เพื่อเป็นพื้นที่ของการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันระหว่างครูและนักเรียน

อีกทั้งยังเป็นช่วงเวลาสำคัญที่ทำให้เด็ก ๆ  ออกจากห้องเรียน ไปสัมผัสประสบการณ์จริงจากโลกการทำงาน และค้นพบตัวตน

Beyond the Classroom: Discovering Yourself and the World of Work

“Taking students outside the classroom isn’t just about fun. It gives them a broader perspective,” said Fatimah (Salva) Chedah, a Teach for Thailand Cohort 11 Fellow teaching at Wichienklin Sukonth Upathum School in Ayutthaya.

Many students had questions about their future careers. To help them find answers, Salva brought her students on a program called Beyond the Classroom. The initiative introduces students to different professions and prepares them for the real working world. In collaboration with the Swarovski Foundation, students visited a factory just 20 kilometers from their school.

Although the road ahead may be long and dreams may evolve over time, this experience helped students clarify their aspirations and take steps toward the future with confidence.

Stepping Out of the Classroom

Wichienklin Sukonth Upathum School is located near an industrial zone, so most students are children of factory workers. At first, many were reluctant to join. They thought they would only end up doing the same work as their parents. But after visiting the factory, their perspective began to change.

“Some students said, ‘I’ll probably end up in a factory anyway, so why go?’ At first, they didn’t know what they wanted to do. After seeing the work firsthand, some discovered they wanted to become interpreters, while others became interested in accounting,” Salva said.

Students had the opportunity to speak directly with professionals in each role. They had to be brave enough to ask questions and absorb as much knowledge as possible. Teachers, meanwhile, saw hidden talents in their students that only emerged when they were outside the classroom.

“At first, they were quiet. This program helped break that shell. We saw that they could speak up, think independently, and express themselves,” said Wansapa Inthapho, a teacher who accompanied the students.

Seeing Courage in Students

The program not only allowed students to explore themselves, but it also gave teachers a fresh perspective on how to guide them.

“Career guidance doesn’t have to rely on lectures or videos,” Wansapa explained. “Taking students to learn directly from professionals helps them experience the work in real life. It’s not just about textbooks or classroom lessons; the workplace itself becomes a learning environment.”

Salva was proud to see students discover themselves. Even if they did not yet have a clear vision for the future, the experience helped them begin preparing for life after graduation.

“It feels good to be part of a moment where students set goals, think critically, and start shaping the direction of their lives. It helps them understand what they want to be,” Salva said.

A Space to Exchange Ideas and Discover Identity

From the private sector’s perspective, Wasana Rudeephaisit, Assistant Executive Director at Swarovski Manufacturing Co., Ltd., explained that business cannot thrive by production alone. Inviting students to the factory opens opportunities for intergenerational exchange.

“We make jewelry, but our business involves many different functions. Allowing students to learn and ask questions gives them exposure to new experiences,” she said.

For Salva, support from the private sector gave students access to real-world experiences that textbooks cannot provide. They could see how departments work, learn workflows, and gain insights that could help them in the future.

“When students see it for themselves, they understand how each department functions. This knowledge may guide their choices later on,” Salva said.

Even though her role as a Teach for Thailand Fellow will eventually end, Salva hopes Beyond the Classroom will continue as a space for collaborative learning between teachers and students. It gives students a chance to step outside the classroom, encounter the real world, and discover themselves.
