Teach For Thailand is a partner in the Teach For All (www.teachforall.org) network. Teach  For All is a network of 61 social enterprises pursuing specific theories of change to end  educational inequity in their respective countries.

The Role: External Relations Associate

To achieve our mission, we are looking to recruit an External Relations Associate  who will play a key role in supporting the actions, strategies and systems undergirding Teach For Thailand’s cultivation of this deep and dynamic donor pipeline as well as supporting brand communication. His/her duties will range from account management, research and meeting,  preparation and partnership engagement to execute expansive partnerships as well as supporting marketing communications. A make it happen and can do attitude, disciplined work habits, and attention to detail will be keys to success in this role. The Associate will report directly to the External Relations Manager.

Outcomes and Responsibilities:

This position will play a key role in building a strong base of corporate and individual support for Teach For Thailand’s efforts by:

  • Co-owning the portfolios along with the functional head to increase and accelerate our efforts to build a constituency of champions and raise critical resources
  • Deeply building the understanding of the landscape of potential supporters and making recommendations for how we engage with possible champions of our mission
  • Developing high-impact communications both internally and externally to advance potential partnerships
  • Accurately maintaining systems that allow the team to understand our progress and track critical tasks
  • Maximizing the functional area lead time through providing administrative support

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Account Management & Partnership Engagement Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts. 
  • Escalate, track and resolve key account issues 
  • Deliver and execute partnerships strategy in order to support securing necessary resources (financial and in-kind) for the organization to execute the program
  • Engage current partners through different levers in a creative and systematic way with the results such as inviting and takings donors to our events 
  • Engage and inspire prospects and advocates of Teach For Thailand in order to build lasting relationships in both short and long term 

 

Research and Meeting Preparation

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of new and existing donors to inform strategy for influencing, motivating and inspiring donors to contribute to our work 
  • Create strategic meeting briefs with appropriate objectives, asks, angles and donor history that anticipate potential questions from funders and proposed potential responses 
  • Prepare high-level landscape analysis research to build Teach For Thailand’s fundraising pipeline, identifying alignment between our work and donor interests and recommending concrete next steps for the Head of External Relations 

Writing and Strategy Responsibilities

  • Draft internal and external donor-related communications, such as thank you letters, email correspondence, donor’s reports and donor histories for network partners 
  • Create new content and tailor existing materials from our communication channels (website) for donor quarterly reports and newsletter
  • Translate existing materials (stories from classroom or activities done by headquarter) for donors
  • Create compelling PowerPoint presentations for funder meetings and touch points 
  • Write press releases

Communications

  • Support to execute TFT communications strategies 
  • Support mass giving fundraising strategy and execution
  • Create content across the marketing and communications mix 

Administrative Support

  • Process cash receipt forms for pledges and gifts 
  • Coordinate trip planning and execution, including drafting itineraries, compiling preparatory materials, and arranging travel and accommodations 
  • Manage calendar scheduling and finances for the External Relations Team 
  • Support donors’ and partners’ special requests such as VDO recording, podcasting, etc.
  • Provide other dedicated administrative support on an as-needed basis

Recruitment:

  • Welcome to a new graduate with bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Professional work experience in external relations, account management, business development, or related field would be beneficial
  • Good to excellent writing skill in Thai and English
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Well detail-oriented, organized and prioritized multiple priorities to deliver results within deadline
  • Ability to create simple VDOs or willing to learn how

  • Good command of English and Thai fluency is mandatory (written and spoken)
  • Possess a “can-do attitude”
