Teach For Thailand (TFT) is an independent charity with a mission to address educational inequity in Thailand by being a driving force behind a network of leaders who will work to ensure equitable educational opportunities for all children in Thailand. We do this by recruiting and developing talented individuals to teach in economically challenged schools and work in partnership with communities for a period of
two years. Students are thereby provided with an enhanced education that will allow them to shape a better future for themselves and those around them.In turn, participants gain the foundation for a lifetime of leadership for the benefit of children.

Teach For Thailand is a partner in the Teach For All (www.teachforall.org) network. Teach For All is a network of 60 independent locally owned and locally operated charities pursuing specific theory of change to end educational inequity in their respective countries.

The Role

To achieve our mission, we are looking to recruit a Head of People and Culture who will be responsible
for ensuring Teach For Thailand attracts, develops, and retains top talent; build staff engagement
and an organisational culture focused on impact; and shape its overall strategy for staff
development. You will maintain high standards across these areas so that we can create a
high-performing team to drive towards the organization’s mission. This is a great opportunity for an
exceptional leader who has strong general management and human resources experience, is
detail-oriented and organized, possesses strong strategic thinking skills, and ability to build authentic
relationships across different groups of people.
The Head of People and Culture will report directly to the Head of Shared Services, your focus will be a
mix of high level strategy and hands-on people operations for the 20 plus employees working in the
organization who work to cultivate leadership of 100+ teachers on the field and 200+ alumni. You’ll be in
charge of driving our people operations – generating and executing solutions to improve our existing
people processes and with scaling in mind in line with the organization’s ambition to do so in the coming
years. You will partner closely with our Senior leadership team to align human resources practices across
the organization, ensuring that everyone utilizes Teach For Thailand’s human resources philosophy to
upscale together.

Key outcomes and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Roles and Responsibilities:

People Strategy and Management:

  • Own and drive recruitment, engagement, retention, and evaluation strategies. Ability to come up with strategies and detailed execution plans so as to ensure the HR function achieves its goals and key results.
  • Plan effectively for future organizational growth in terms of human resources, including developing organizational headcount and position forecasts, updating position descriptions and roles and responsibilities.
  • Drive increased engagement for the organization through existing tools to assess and improve organizational culture
  • Oversee, manage and administer our employees’ rewards, perks and benefits and benchmark compensation as well as annual performance reviews
  • Supervise the process of delivering fellow HR support

Talent Recruitment and Selection:

  • Oversee all aspects of Teach For Thailand staff recruitment and come up with creative sourcing strategies to attract the right talent in a very competitive market
  •  Set, define, and meet ambitious yet realistic recruitment goals that are aligned with large organizational objectives
  • Manage and continually improve staff recruitment and selection process and systems for Teach For Thailand to ultimately ensure a talented staff
  • Provide guidance on attracting and developing key staff for Teach For Thailand Employee Engagement and Employment Operations:
  • Develop systems and processes to manage and respond to all issues pertaining to staff satisfaction and retention, train managers to respond to questions and concerns from staff ∙ Manage and continuously improve a system for staff compensation and benefits; conduct an annual compensation analysis and position/title evaluation
  • Ensure Teach for Thailand practices align with Thai labor laws

Professional Development:

  • Partner with Senior Leadership Team and all functions to effectively use Teach For Thailand’s performance evaluation system to ensure staff development within the organization
  • Design and operationalize organization-wide and role-specific learning and development programs to promote organizational learning
  • Manage and continuously improve our employee onboarding processes

Team Management:

  • Develop and manage direct reporting staff. Continuously evaluate and improve upon the organization’s human assets team.
  • Hire and retain staff and external consultants/professionals as needed. Build relationships and contracts with external parties to provide various staff member services, including benefits and compensation, legal, recruitment, and training.

Hence the success of this role would be the delivery of the below outcomes:

  • Maintain or exceed the annual employee survey scores under the Performance Management and Recognition section from the previous year
  • Develop and identify the second bench of management talents to aid in succession planning
  • Achieve the retention target of the organization to ensure minimal human capital disruption as we embark on our goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above,
  • Experience working in a high growth and fast paced environment highly preferred,
  • 10+ years of professional full-time experience, with proven track record of leading teams and managing operations,
  • 5+ years of management experience in human resources, with exposure to finance, project management and technology,
  • Fluency in Thai and English.
